This policy explains what information I collect through this website, why I collect it and what you can do about it. I've kept it short and in plain English.
Who I am
I'm Jawad Ahmed Butt, a full-stack WordPress developer based in Pakistan. I run this website (jawadbutt.com) on my own, so I'm the person responsible for your data.

What I collect
I only collect what you choose to send me through the contact forms on this site:
- Your name and email address, so I can reply to you
- Company and website (optional), so I understand who I'm talking to
- Project type, budget and timeline (optional), so I can tell you whether and how I can help
- Your message
I also record the date and time you sent the form.
I don't ask for payment details, ID documents or any other sensitive information through this website.
Why I use it
I use your details only to reply to your enquiry and to discuss your project with you. I don't add you to a mailing list, and I don't use your details for marketing unless you ask me to.
If you're in the UK or the EU, my legal basis under the UK GDPR / GDPR is:
- Consent: you choose to send me the form, and you can withdraw that consent at any time
- Legitimate interest: replying to a business enquiry you've made and keeping a record of our conversation
Where it's stored and for how long
Form submissions are stored with [TODO: storage provider, once the dashboard database is set up].
I keep enquiries for [TODO: retention period], then delete them. If we end up working together, project-related correspondence is kept for as long as needed for the project and my business records.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel automatically keeps basic server logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. I don't use these logs to identify you.
Third-party services
A few things on this site come from other providers:
- YouTube: some videos are YouTube embeds. Nothing loads from YouTube until you click play, and the embeds use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
- Framer's CDN: some background videos currently load directly from Framer's content delivery network, which means your browser connects to it to play them. Some images are also fetched from it, but by this website's server, not your browser. [TODO: remove once all media is self-hosted.]
What I don't do
- No analytics or tracking tools
- No advertising or ad trackers
- No selling, renting or sharing your data with anyone for their own use
Fonts are self-hosted on this site, so your browser doesn't make requests to Google Fonts.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Show you the information I hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop using your information, if you withdraw your consent
To make a request, email me at hello@jawadbutt.com. I'll reply as soon as I can, and within one month at the latest. If you're in the UK or EU and you're not happy with how I've handled your data, you can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, that's the ICO).
Children
This website is meant for businesses. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle your data, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date at the top.
